Cao Bang is located in the east-north of Ha Noi, with a border of over 300 km, bordering China. Cao Bang is not only known for its majestic mountains, cave systems, rivers and lakes, but also as the place where Ho Chi Minh lived, worked and led the revolution.
To explore this place, you should spend at least 3 days and 2 nights, starting with 4 hours at Pac Bo relic site where Uncle Ho came back to Vietnam in 1941. He lived at Le Quoc Sung house then moved inside Coc Po Cave and named the stream in front of the cave "Lenin stream" and the mountain with this cave "Karl Marx mountain". Moving on, Ban Gioc Waterfall is the top one must see in your list, the largest waterfall in Vietnam and divides the border between Vietnam and China. You can hire a bamboo boat run by local people and come closer to the waterfall. Next, Khuoi Ky ancient stone village, located 3 km from the waterfall, you can see around 14 Tay minority ethnic houses which were built in the 16th century during the Mac Dynasty to protect the border between Vietnam and China. Besides, Nguom Ngao Cave, Truc Lam Buddhist Temple, God's Eye Mountain, Bao Lac Market (only open on 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 of each Lunar calendar).
The best season to visit Cao Bang is October or December when wild sunflower or buckwheat flower season bloom and don’t forget to try local food if you love to explore and experience local cuisine.
